Introduction
Prophetic Scriptures have remained sealed since the time they were written, from 2000 to 2700 years ago. They were to remain sealed, sealed from understanding ‘until the end of time’ (Daniel 12:4). The fact that they can now be understood means that they are no longer sealed. It also means that we are living in the time when our present way of life will end.
The prophecies recorded in the Bible will all be fulfilled in the lifetime of the generation that is here today. Most people will not believe the prophecies, but don't let that dissuade you ... you are not alone. I didn't believe most of them either when I first discovered them.
Many of these prophecies describe phenomena that have occurred recently, others relate to events that are currently taking place. Some relate to people and events that are in the news today, others to people who have appeared on the world stage recently, still others talk about men who will play a dominant role in global society in the months ahead. Most relate to frightening events that are predicted soon to occur.
A time of unprecedented horror is coming, horrible events that are predicted to affect every person of this generation.
The sole purpose for writing A Difficult Passage is to reveal these things, to interpret the prophecies and explain them so they will be understood. It is then left to the reader to decide what he will do with this knowledge. Words of prophecy are weapons in a fight for survival, a fight the entire human race is about to encounter. (I know this sounds like some rash, dramatic exaggeration, but believe me, it is neither! It is not possible even to adequately portray, much less exaggerate, what that horrible time will be like!)
The book does not preach, but it does uncover and reveal facts. It also divulges warnings. To do otherwise would be unconscionable. And it offers hope, tremendous hope. The book is written for people who are secular but honest, people who may not be familiar with the Bible, people who may doubt what is written there, or who may have rejected it all together but are willing to consider what is predicted for the future. What is posted to this website is a small sample.
Skeptics will abound but while reading what is posted here take note of the prophecies that have been fulfilled in our generation, predictions that were unbelievable before they happened, but did happen and are now fact. Such phenomena are beyond chance!
Do you suppose that when the righteous pilgrims came to America they, and its founding fathers, would have believed a prediction that the majority of their countrymen would one day doubt or deny the existence of God, or would fail to make the Lord the focus of their lives? Do you suppose at the beginning of the 20th century that anyone would have believed a prediction that hundreds of satellites would be stationed in orbit around the globe at the end of that century? Do you think anyone, even ten years ago, would have believed a prediction that passenger jets loaded with people and fuel would be flown into the twin towers of the World Trade Centre? The same is true of the Asian tsunami in 2004, the Haitian disaster, the dramatic volcanic eruption in Iceland, and many others.
These and many events like them all happened in this generation (secularism surpassed piousness in civilized society fairly recently); and all were unbelievable before they happened. Yet they did happen!
Is it any wonder then, that people today will not believe end time warnings and prophecies? Believe, for example, that a nuclear bomb will obliterate the financial capital of the world, kill upward of twenty million people and trigger the destruction of the global economy!
Think of the people killed on 9/11, or the 200,000 who lost their lives in the Haitian earthquake. Or the 160,000 who were killed in the Asian tsunami ... on Christmas day they had no idea their lives would be snuffed out the following day. The same is true of the people who lost their lives in Haiti and in the twin tower disaster. Yet if anyone had tried to warn them, would they have been believed? Chances are they would have been scorned; yet these tragic events and many others like them are warnings foretold in the Bible.
The Scriptures predict that before this age ends and these horrible events take place God ‘will give warnings in the sky and on the land.’ How many warnings? What kind of warnings? We are not given the answers, for obvious reasons, but if today’s secularism, the satellites in orbit, the devastating hurricanes, earthquakes and tsunamis, the attack on the twin towers, the acts of terrorism that have happened so frequently and on a global scale, wars and conflicts and many similar signs and warnings are not enough, we know one thing is certain: the nuclear blast that will demolish New York City, a clear, specific prophecy recorded in the Bible, will be the last warning.
There are many who will scoff at this, telling themselves “things happen.” That is true, but there is often a compelling reason why they happen and it makes sense to consider them before rejecting them.
The world is in conflict and the human family has so much of it that it has seemingly become immune to it. In many respects we are functioning like a colony of ants. Everybody scurries about busy in his daily pursuits, absorbed in his own activities, striving for a better lifestyle, to have more, to be entertained, to have fun. It might be wise to take time to think … to think and to reason, to meditate and contemplate the meaning and the purpose of it all ... and a good place to start is with the prophetic Scriptures.
How is it possible that the men who wrote the prophetic Scriptures thousands of years ago knew about people and places that are in the news today? How did they know about events that are taking place now? How were they able to accurately describe them? How is it possible that they could describe a nuclear explosion and its destructive power?
There are deeper questions: How is communication and travel “in the spirit” possible? Are neutrinos spiritual messages? Are they perhaps the messenger? Is God real? Why is it that so large a portion of the world's people is devolving into a vortex of violence and immoral filth?
Our world is but a tiny speck in the Universe and there seems to exist a whole genus of life that has existed much longer and is much further advanced than this physical form of life. Perhaps if we raised our awareness a bit we would begin to understand that other life form.
The scriptures talk about this other life-form and what must happen to prepare this planet for that phase of life, the permanent phase of life. And they explain why the last seven years of this age will end with so much strife and awful horror. (Please don’t let pride stand in the way of reading and studying these things … these matters are much too important to be burdened by feelings.)
Michael Ross, a retired agent for the Mossad, as reported states in his book The Volunteer: “In this age of global jihad, the threat Israelis have been dealing with for decades is becoming a reality for the whole world … a storm is coming, and it would appear that those of us who cherish life, liberty and the goodness in our way of life will have no choice but to endure it.”
That is not entirely true. A “storm” is indeed coming but there is a way to escape it.
